1. About Tutorly

Tutorly is a booking platform that enables tutors to accept lesson bookings and students to book lessons online. By creating an account or making a booking, you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You must provide accurate information when setting up your profile.
  • We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

3. Bookings and payments

  • All payments are processed securely by Stripe.
  • Tutorly charges a 4% platform fee on each booking, deducted from the tutor's payout.
  • Students are charged the full lesson price at the time of booking.
  • Tutors receive their earnings via Stripe Connect, subject to Stripe's payout schedule.

4. Cancellations and refunds

  • More than 24 hours before the lesson: full refund to the student.
  • Less than 24 hours before the lesson: no refund.
  • Refunds are processed via Stripe and may take 5–10 business days to appear.

5. Tutor responsibilities

  • Tutors are independent contractors, not employees of Tutorly.
  • Tutors are responsible for delivering the lessons they have accepted.
  • Tutors are responsible for their own tax obligations.
  • Tutors must keep their availability and profile information accurate.

6. Student responsibilities

  • Students must join lessons on time using the provided Google Meet link.
  • Students must treat tutors with respect.
  • Late cancellations (under 24 hours) are non-refundable.

7. Limitation of liability

Tutorly provides a platform to connect tutors and students. We are not responsible for the quality of lessons, disputes between tutors and students, or any losses arising from use of the platform beyond what is required by UK law.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
